OUR JOURNEY

This is our family's journey- the story of our daughter's fight with cancer. Along the way, we will have some tears, lots of love, and even more prayers going up to heaven. We know that our Heavenly Father is aware of us. We know that he will help us fight, fill our hearts with peace, and send angels to give us aid. We send praise to HIM. Join us in this battle. This battle of courage, determination, and most of all faith in God that all is well and will be well.
This is where I will record my feelings- raw, real, and unfiltered. Welcome all.

Fourteen Months.

It is hard to believe that this little munchkin,
is no longer a baby.
She is standing up,
talking a ton,
and getting pretty independent.
It is exciting to see.
Goodbye baby,
hello big girl!
She is really strong and is getting closer to walking everyday.
When she feels good, we practice.
Oh what strong legs she has!!!
She loves loves music.
Dancing, singing, making music.
She is always moving to a beat!
She has suddenly been talking up a storm.
She can say cracker, daddy, mama, hi, oh no, ow, thank you,
and will minick anything you say.
She is jabbering all the time.
We practice our animal sounds.
She especially loves it when daddy does it.
She loves to make the monkey and cow sounds.
It is adorable.
Her favorite thing is to read books and to dance.
She also loves to talk to daddy on the phone or on Skype.
She talks and talks and talks.
It is so fun to hear.
She still only has four teeth, which is weird
because her brothers all had full mouths by this age.
She still loves mommy's milk and is very keen on
sweet potatoes and smoothies,
when she feels up to eating.
She is an amazing sleeper and enjoys 2 naps a day
and 12 hours of sleep a night!
I swear that everyday her blue eyes get bluer and bluer,
and her plump little cheeks get cuter and cuter!
She has what they call "angel hair", tuffs around the top of her head.
Lucky for her, she hasn't lost it all, just a bald back and sparse eyelashes!
She has an amazing laugh
and when she feels well,
her smile is readily available for anyone that looks her way.
The doctors call her, "Gift of God".
She makes them smile and they usually visit her at the end of the day,
so that she is the last one they see.
This girl has a gift
and she will share it with anyone that wants it.
It is love.
She is just so amazing.
She is our precious PRINCESS!!

  1. I've never met Evalette, but I am so emotionally attached to her! She is so close in age to my Lily and from what you write about her, they have a lot in common. I cry when I read some of your posts. I'm so happy to hear that Evalette is in remission! Your family is beautiful. You are beautiful. I hope I can be as good of a mom as you are, you are so inspiring to me.
